Universal car rearview camera installation guide
The first step
Verify the signal type of the reversing camera purchased and the signal support of your own car screen system

The reversing camera can only be installed on the car screen and cannot be installed on other devices such as TVs, driving recorders, multimedia rearview mirrors, and video recorders

There are two types of reversing camera signals: CCD and AHD signals

CCD lenses can generally be installed on DVD screens, MP5 screens, and Android screens.

For AHD lenses, you need the car screen to support AHD signals before you can use them. Android car screens basically support it. Older generation car screens basically do not support AHD signals. You can enter the reversing signal related settings on the car screen to see if there are any words related to AHD. If so, If it cannot be found, it is not supported. For specific identification methods, please refer to the fourth guide on this page.

Step 2
Connect the lines according to the figure below. Pay special attention to the reversing trigger line and make sure it is connected correctly.

What needs to be noted here is that the original old wires may be bad.

At the same time Each manufacturer's cordset connectors have different definitions and ratings, which may cause incompatibilities. Therefore, please try to install matching wire sets when installing.

Step 3
Set the signal matching the reversing lens in the car screen system

After setting, be sure to save if needed and restart the car screen. Some CCD lenses do not have a setting place on old car screens, so they can be used after being installed. Some car screens share a port with TVI and AHD. When the AHD lens cannot be displayed when AHD is selected, you can try other signal tests such as TVI.

Step 4
Start the car, shift into reverse gear, and check the working status of the camera

If there is an abnormality, please carefully eliminate the above links.
When there is no solution, there is a possibility. New cars released in recent years have original reversing cameras with original screens. Some of them have program protection and do not allow the installation of third-party reversing cameras. Please consult us for details. Car sales manufacturer.

4Pin car rearview camera installation guide
The first step
Verify the signal type of the reversing camera purchased and the signal support of your own car screen system

The 4Pin reversing camera looks a bit like the driving recorder streaming camera. Many people often buy it wrongly. One is an analog signal and the other is a digital signal, which is not universal. The 4Pin reversing camera can only be installed on the car screen, not on the car screen. TV, driving recorder, multimedia rearview mirror, video recorder and other devices

There are two types of reversing camera signals: CCD and AHD signals

AHD lens, you need the car screen to support AHD signal to use it, Android car screens basically support it, the older generation The car screen basically does not support AHD signals.   Frequently Asked Questions about Rearview Camera Installation
1. Why does the screen not display after installation and is completely black?

Focus on troubleshooting line installation problems, whether the voltage and signal are transmitted properly. If the old line is used, consider whether the line is still intact and whether the connector definitions are consistent. In this case, it is recommended to install the matching line set. The connectors of some manufacturers look the same. , the definition of each line is different. In addition, the reversing camera usually draws power from the reversing lights and is only powered when reversing, so it will not start working until the reverse gear is engaged.

2. Why does the screen flicker, blur, and appear black and white after installation?

Generally, it is a signal setting problem. AHD lenses require the car screen to support AHD signals before they can be used. Enter the car screen to set the correct signal. Some signals will share ports, so you can try each signal more. If you buy an AHD camera and you can't find the word AHD in the car screen system, it means that the AHD lens is not supported. If the wiring installation is OK and the signal cannot be used after testing, it means that the car screen is not compatible and cannot be used.

3. Why is there ripples on the screen?

The problem of signal interference is that the clearer the lens, the higher the stability requirements for voltage and current. If there are short circuits or poor contacts in other wires in the wiring harness, signal interference will occur and ripples will form. This situation is difficult to eliminate, and the car's If there are too many wires, the general solution is to change to a wire set with a shielding layer. In this case, a primary CCD lens is often installed, which is normal because its requirements are relatively low.
Another situation is that if the old cable is used, the cable grade of the AHD lens will often be much higher than that of the CCD lens. When the AHD lens uses the cable of the original CCD lens, the grade cannot keep up, and ripples will appear.

How to check what cameras the car screen supports?
The reversing camera is divided into two types: CCD lens and AHD lens
CCD is mainly used for the older generation of DVD, MP5 and other car screens that do not support AHD signals. The definition is limited. AHD lenses generally have relatively high definition. Of course, CCDs also have good chips, but the cost will be relatively high, so clear CCDs are available on the market. There are relatively few shots.
Generally, for car screens before 2019, you can just buy a CCD lens. Car screens before 19 years rarely support AHD.

How to check whether the car screen supports AHD

As long as the relevant settings for AHD can be found in the car screen system, it means that AHD lenses are supported. If not found, It means it is not supported. Different car screen AHD settings are different. Below are multiple reference pictures. Some car screens require a password to enter the settings. You can try the general password 1111, 8888, 123456, 1234, 0000, 1617, 3368, 6666, etc., or ask the manufacturer directly.

After determining the signal type, you can choose the installation method according to your own preferences, such as straw hat camera, square exterior camera, cylindrical camera, wide-angle or regular angle, etc.

NO.5
Can a car rearview camera be installed on a driving recorder?
No, the signals are different and the working mechanisms are different. There are also special machines or signal conversion settings that can work even if they are connected, but they cannot be turned on for a long time as the chip will burn out.

NO.6
Can car rearview cameras work as long-term surveillance?
No, it is waterproof and shockproof, and is sealed with glue inside. It cannot dissipate heat well, and the original intention of the chip's endurance design is also different. If it is turned on for a long time, it will really burn the chip.

NO.6
Are car rearview cameras universal in all countries?
Reversing cameras are now mainly divided into PAL standard, NTSC standard and SECAM standard. The popular standards in various countries are as follows

PAL format:
Most countries in Europe, including the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, China, etc. Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, China, Russia, Brazil, Argentina, India, etc.

NTSC format:
The United States, Canada, Mexico, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, China and other North American and Asian countries. Some countries in Central and South America, such as Panama, Dominica, Honduras, etc.

SECAM format:
France, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Morocco and other French-speaking countries and regions.

With the development of technology and global markets in recent years, some countries have transitioned to other standards or adopted multiple standards, which have basically achieved compatibility, but some countries may still use different standards in different regions. Therefore, when doing global reverse camera trade, it is best to choose and customize according to the commonly used standards in the country and region. The default production in mainland China is NTSC standard.
